The Venue: castle ‘De Berckt’

The congress will take place in a very rustic and beautiful castle, called Kasteel De Berckt. It was built in 1219, commissioned by the richest family of Baarlo. Throughout history the castle changed ownership through inheritance or marriage and each owner changed it a bit and added a piece of history. The oldest part is from the eighteenth century. A lot of modern facilities were added by the current owner. The castle has various video and sound systems and even a Karaoke installation.

In 2013 and 2017 the castle was the location of the K.N.P.S.V. National Congress. The Congress committees of those years were very satisfied with the service, the bedrooms and the possibilities to host the symposium, outside activities and parties. Everyone had a lot of fun during the congresses. The owner of the castle is used to having students, for example AIESEC also has its congresses here, so the castle is definitely the perfect place to be.

The castle is surrounded by a typical canal, also called a castle moat, which will make you feel like you’re in a fairy-tale from the moment you’ll arrive. The different authentic Dutch rooms offer the perfect setting for an international congress. A good start of the day with breakfast in the restaurant or in the beautiful courtyard, the GA in the big conference room, and the workshops in smaller rooms. In the evening we have cosy bars for the theme nights and a romantic ballroom for the big gala. After the party everyone can get a good night’s sleep in one of the comfortable bedrooms, most with a private shower and toilet.

The lovely environment, the romantic gardens, the canal around the castle and the lovely rooms in the castle will bring out the prince(ss) in everyone!
